It's been a long time since I've posted or came to this site.
I started to learn how to play the Bass about four months ago, and this site was one that I'd decided to join. I'd posted about my two Basses to find how valuable they were, and that I was starting to take lessons. I've been very religious about the lessons. Making every one. What I've learned in the four months seems invaluable to me. My teacher has me doing the Bass part of Bach, and thinks that it's time for me to start to learn from the Bass White Pages. I'm not the sharpest rock in the box, but I do agree with his opinion. After all I get only two hours a week with him, so it has been mostly myself that has been driving me. I thought that I should give a update to all the people that gave encouraging word to me when I was beginning theses lessons. Thomas

Glad to hear things are moving in the right direction. A good teacher is worth their weight in gold and can really slash the learning curve.
Might I also suggest you pick up as Tasam Bass trainer and start jamming with a wide variety of musical genres - a great way to train your ear.
The transcriptions in the Bass White Pages are pretty accurate and it covers a broad range of musical styles.

Yes, the Tascam bass trainer is a great utility to learn. As slow as I am learning songs, I would be much slower if it wasn't for it.
Congratulations on your progress!

Thank for the suggestion. Were would I find the Bass trainer that you suggested? It seem that I'm a little slow at the tempo side. My teacher has me starting Ozzy Crazy Train now, and it just doesn't seem to sound like the track that I play on my i pod. Thank again TOM

I would imagine Guitar Center or Sam Ash would probably stock them, you might also try music123.com, zzsounds.com etc. If you're comfortable dealing on eBay I've seen some very competitive prices.
I'm on my 3rd one. I had the original CD version - which worked pretty well but the 2nd generation are way better (I've got the MP3 version for portability & the CD version so I can grab a random CD from my collection and play along)
