New- Dargie Delight II & MusicMan Bongo

Been a while since I posted a new bass on here(what 2-3 momths maybe?). I have a couple of new ones I picked up around the holidays.
The first is a 2009 Dargie Delight II Slo Special Stingray. What makes it different from other Stingrays is that it has a color shift paint job which is called "caramel apple." It shifts from a green under normal lighting conditions to a golden color under bright or flash lighting. I have pictures of both shades to show the difference. Another difference is that it has an ebony fretboard and custome abalone/mop inlays. The neck is a Slo Special, which is the thinner Musicman Sterling neck. It has the dual pickups with the 5 way selector switch, making it a very versatile StingRay. The pickguard is a clear pickguard(it came w/a black pg), with a zebra design I cut to fit beneath it.

This is my creme de la creme of basses I've ever owned.

The next one up is my Musicman Bongo in Desert Gold. This bass may not be a favorite amongst many....because of it's radical appearance. Many have dubbed it the "Toilet Bowl." The funny thing is that even the guys on the Ernie Ball forums joke about it. The Bongo despite it's differences is amazingly comfortable to play, hangs perfect on a strap, and has amazing tonal variety. 18 volt preamp, 2 Humbuckers, pickup blend, 4 band eq (low, high, lo-mid, hi-mid).
I prefer the look of my Stingrays, but actually prefer the sound of the Bongo...

Yeah, it goes to the bronze-ish color under bright or flash lighting. It's a little weird.

The Bongo...I love the color, and playability....but the StingRays are so much better looking.

The color shift is pretty cool. I can do the same thing with a womans face. I can turn it from white to bright red with a single smartass comment!

When does the ebay listing start?

I can't sell this one....bought it new, and aside from a "buddy" discount, I paid full price. I rarely buy NEW basses....they may be new to me, but I usually only buy used basses. Used basses come and go, or basses I got really good deals on.

Did one of the moderators remove it?

Coming from anyone but maybe you, Eddie, Bo, Sharpie, Vern, Peter, and Julian....I probably would have given you the one finger salute.

Hey, I keep things interesting for those who are visually stimulated!

Yeah...I've drank a beer with you Dave...so I know you were having a blast putting it together.....And it's the F'n truth!!

My band mates pick on me about it(in a good way)...they always say that if I practiced as much as I do buying/selling, I'd be much better!

I always respond by saying, "And....you guys would be looking for a new bass player."

"Why"?

"Because, I'd be way too good for your sorry a--es."

Always good for a laugh!
