Like someone said, all these 'brands' must come out of the same Chinese factory. Probably even the Icon series. That said, my early 90's Rogue is pretty damn nice. No dead spots and I love the neck.
I had a music store bring in four Hofner 501's in the 80's and they all had 'issues'. At around $500 back then I wasn't going to accept any problems. I took a pass.
FF to the 90's. $250 with case was very acceptable for my Rogue. And it sounded just as good as those 501's. Now while I would like to have an Icon or Contemporary, the Rogue is just fine.
Hope you find a place in yer heart for the JT. And remember Medium scale length strings are what ya need.
