starting on the G string, play D, C, B, A. Please post EVERYTHING you notice, however insignificant you may think it to be. Using four fingers on the left hand, having to shift the position a bit from D to C, not as much for the others. Always starting with the middle finger on right hand. When I tried to start with the index finger, it didn't feel right. Doing it more or less the same way on the fretted and fretless.

I found that I like the popping sound of those notes on the g string if your playing them starting from the 7th fret & running down to the 2nd. Its also easy to make nice percussive slaps allowing the notes to be played on the off beat.
