Bass Guitar For Dummies and Bass Remedies

Hello all my bass-brothers and sisters!

Sorry about being absent for such long stretches of time, its
been a bit hectic around my place! A lot to report!

As some of you already know, Ive published a new book (my
third) this past Summer (Daily Grooves for Bass, published by
Carl Fischer) and Im just about to finish the last touches on Bass
Guitar For Dummies-2nd Edition, which came out amazing. I
think youll enjoy this one as well. Its due out February 2nd.

I thought that Id catch a breather in the new year, but Im
already starting work on yet another book (cant talk about the
details yet, but rest assured, Ill make sure youll dig this one as
well).

Since Im hitting the grindstone quite hard its been a challenge
to find the time to stay in touch with everyone. I do want to
thank you all for being such an amazing and supportive group,
you guys ROCK!

I have a big favor to ask of you

I have co-founded a company that offers online bass lessons
and in-person clinics with todays most influential bass-players.
Weve featured Will Lee, Bakithi Kumalo, Lincoln Goines, Chris
Tarry and moreand if you can make it to New York City, please
check one out!

Weve just gone public with the lesson site and I would love
some feedback from you guys. The web-address is BassRemedies.com
and it really features some great lessons, my word on it. and
it really features some great lessons, my word on it.
Would you please take a look and give me some feedback?
Please be kind, but honest, this is my lifes work! ;-)

All the lessons are 99cents, about 4 to 8 minutes long and deal
with specific aspects of playing (right hand, left hand, groove,
etc. you get the idea). If you just peek, tell me how you like the
layout, what youd like to see, what bothers you, all that stuff. If
you buy a lesson, please tell me about the buying experience,
how the lesson worked for you, how the PDFs came outall the
good stuffand if any questions come up, please e-mail me
directly (its BassPower at Earthlink dot net), mark it clearly, and
I will respond (in fact, we may talk on the phone if its alright
with you).

Im going to try to stay in touch here on AB as much as possible
before I go under again (writing a book really takes you out of
commissionbut its a great life, I play bass, I teach bass, I
write bass books.) Be well and all the very bass...and thank you
again for all your support!

Peace,
Patrick

I went to the site, it seems pardon me, minimalist. I don't see a lot (any) information on payment methods. No doubt I will be in a minority here, but I DO NOT use credit cards on-line and never for small purchases. Providing clear information for payment(s) in my opinion should be on the first page. I assume that you (Patrick) did not design the web site. Therefore the "fault" should be presented to the designer to rectify if it is determined that it would be a desired addition to the site.
JFI I'll no doubt purchase the new book and thank you.

Hey Alfred,

Thanks so much for the honest feedback! I've past it on.
Personally I like the minimalist site better than the elaborate one
we had before (which my little brother said looks like a "cheap
porn site")...talking about honest opinions! ;-)

I've also passed on the payment concern, which is always an
issue (and you guessed quite right that I'm not the most
computer savvy individual on the planet...I need help). I'll see
what (if anything) can be done about that.

Thanks and please keep me posted...and thanks about getting
the new book! Please let me know how you like that one as well.

Peace,
Patrick

Hey Clifton,

How is my old AB bass-brother? Glad you're chiming in! Yes, the
book is practically done, I just have to take a look at one of the
chapters to make sure that all the artwork has been corrected
(grids, notation, you know the deal). Then it's off to the printers.
The writing is all done and so is the recording. I think you'll
really dig all the new music in it (with full band). You'll even hear
us sing one of the blues tunes...imagine that! Think of me when
you listen to "Two Too Tight Blues Shoes." ;-)

Please keep me posted about the new site, it really has great,
great material on it, the stuff people get in their lessons when
they study with me in NYC. One of my partners by the way is
none
other than Mike Visceglia, bassist and musical director for
Suzanne Vega and one serious bass player (and a great guy).

Looking forward to hearing more from you! Be well meanwhile!

Peace,
Patrick

Yo Patrick,
I went to the web site and I liked it!! It was set up nice but, I think that you need to let people know how much each lesson costs and how they can pay for it!
I run a Bass discuss group on another web site about 45 people, and I told them all to stop by. I hope they buy something from you. I know I will! LOL!! :^D

Hey Richard,

Thanks so much, brother! I'm glad on both counts! I've been
using this rather slow year (yes, me too!) to work on the book
and on the site, and I'm very happy with both, so it really means
a lot to me when you say you like it! Thank you! Something else
coming down the pike as well, I'll keep you posted. I'm really
having a ball right now...a bit exhausted at times, but having a
ball! ;-)

Peace,
Patrick
