Really Good Friend In A Really Bad Way!

Saturday before last we were playing a big club called Tubbys. A good friend of ours James was out as he is so many times when his band isnt playing. Im not sure we even ask him anymore to come up and sing one. If hes in the crowd its just a given that he is going to. James has a good voice, is one Hell of a front man, and just one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. I was screwing with him as I do from time to time. After we finished the song I asked him: Are you p---ed off at me. James answered No, Im not p---ed off at you. I said Well I'll have to try harder next time. He got quite a kick out of that and informed the crowd of what was said between us. We laughed and he walked off stage and we continued on the rest of the night.

This past Friday only six days after the Tubbys show James went into a diabetic coma. When he didnt show up for something (not sure of all the details at this time) some of his band mates went looking for him and found him. At 3 a.m. Saturday morning James suffered a pretty serious heart attack. Hes only freaking 50!!!!! Today they were taking him off life support and the family says they are planning on a funeral this week! I find the whole thing pretty upsetting. But, can we give the freaking guy a chance!!!! I would really appreciate no one talking funeral ABOUT A MAN WHO IS STILL FREEKING LIVING!!!

Im just pretty shook up about the whole thing and so is the whole Steel family. They wont even let us in to see him its just family thats allowed in. I havent heard anything today so no news is DEFINITELY good news in this case. The situation is very grim at best!

I raise my Heineken to you my good friend James! Thanks for the memories brother. Heres hoping that we will get the chance to make some more! Its been one Hell of a Rock N Roll ride my friend. Youre a good man and a good friend! I will not lose hope as long as you do not lose breath. But, my heart breaks on this night! Heres to you my friend!

TO JAMES!

For God sakes now he's got a blood infection (would that be sepsis?).

Thanks ALL for the kind words, thoughts and prayers.

He is stable was the word last night. His heart was only fuctioning at 20%. When they told me that I said big deal.... the guys got a big heart so that will just take him down to an average man. As of last night his heart was up to 40%! So, that was the first good news we got.
