Prescision Special Thoughts.

Just a quick brain pick if I may, lots of ABers pledge to either to a P bass or a J bass, your thoughts on the P bass special if I may, (a P bass with a J pup near the bridge). Not a lot have mentioned this type bass. Your thoughts please.

Paul.

Pickup-wise, it's a pretty versatile arrangement. But I believe it has a Jazz neck. Not for me.

I did buy one and played it for a a couple of weeks. But in my case the J neck felt so foreign to me, I took the Special back to Guitar Center and bought a P Bass.

I have played a p bass special for the last ten
years, and love it. It is weird that I have had so
many compliments on my sound with this bass, yet I
play a p or a j, I get negative comments.

I usually will have the p pickup full and the j
pickup off, unless I need that extra punch to cut
through.

The weirdest thing that I have experienced is
being so used to playing this bass, that I had to
borrow a precision, and the neck just felt so
foreign to me. Like I had to learn to play all
over again in the lower registers.

Lesa played one for quite awhile. She may chime in
on this one.

About 2 years ago I missed out on a 1981 Fender P bass special that was selling at my local pawn shop, sunburst finish, S1 switching, enclosed tuners, mint condition, I had her on lay by but changed my mind, wish I had'nt now...

PRECISION BASS = 1 PICK UP, 1 VOLUME, 1 TONE....

This is a real PRECISION BASS, anything else in my book is NOT.

IMHO, the Precision Deluxe in nothing but a modified Jazz Bass........

again.. PBass= 1PUP, 1 Vol, and 1 Tone....that is it and that's all,,, and, Ladies and Gentlemen, this is J_F take on what a P Bass should be......just like the picture

LOL ya, she is still kikking and every time I go to the Vet for pills refill, they are amazed. Last spring the Vet said that by the end of the summer she will be gone, but as of yet no indications,,,,she eats well does all her things outside and does not appear to be in pain so she might pass her end of summer time.
