Accepted a job offer...
Well, since being underemployed since last November (laid off) I have been freelancing. I have been creating Access databases and writing arrangements for a church I am a associate member of. The music pastor made it a point of tossing me as much work as he could.
So he and the executive director have offered me a position that they created for me at the church as Co-director of Instrumental Music (that's my best description for now, they're still massaging the job description), on the road to being THE Director of Instrumental music with luck and momentum.
My duties would include a lot of music writing and arranging, creating and upkeep of databases used to keep track of all the artists, Calendars, etc., along with the appropriate amount of administration. I will start July 16th. I'm SMILING.....

Excellent news!!
I used to do some of that on a MUCH smaller basis - I put in hours of work - but I was doing something I loved. Shame I didn't get paid for it!
I'm really pleased for ya Barney :-)

Thank you! I'm pleased too, but I am gonna be very vigilant and keep my boundaries. Churches are NOTORIOUS for tryin' to guilt trip folks into puttin' in more hours but I am pretty stubborn about family time. I do know that this church puts family first so that bodes well. We shall see...
