Well folks, something to drool over from Carvin:
The new SB4000 & SB5000 basses. The neck is close to the Fender Jazz neck as it's 1.53 at the nut and 2.5 at the heel. The pickups are stacked humbuckers. The starting prices are $799 and $899.
Geez am I gassin' for one of these beauties...
Carvin is very excited to debut our newest bass model, the SB4000. Designed in conjunction with noted bassist Sekou Bunch, the SB4000 represents a significant departure from our other bolt-neck basses. The SB4000 has a vintage vibe, with a completely new body and headstock design, and other options that make this model an instant retro classic.
Standard pickups are Carvin's all-new H50A alnico stacked humbucker pickups, available in black (standard) or cream (read more below). Passive electronics are standard, or you can upgrade to active electronics.
Other features include an alder body with jazz-style hard rock maple neck, new neck heel design which allows easy access up to the 20th fret, newly designed bridge with lock-down saddles, optional ivory Graph Tech TUSQ nut, optional inlaid knobs and much more.
A 5-string model, the SB5000, will be coming to Carvin.com soon.

Good Morning Mr Gumbs,
Your task, should you decide to accept it, is to kill that gas, and thus hold on to that lovely lady of yours!

lol...Yes Mo....I know what you mean. Oh Responsibilities!!
Suprising, she has talked me into painting the bass she paid for. Aparently she's not a fan of sunburst....I personally don't mind it, but I decided I'm taking on the project...keep an eye out for an update. |

I can't do it...Really...I can't. I have to save some money for a future root canal-they missed one root on one I had done a couple of years ago, and I get an occasional infection as a result.
It's a shame they put these beauties out during the recession, AND, as Brian said....the headstock looks terrible. |

No doubt about it Rog, you're smitten. Carvin offers an impressive combinaton of quality & value (and they're actually made in USA!)
I only wish they'd do something about their headstocks - these ones look like a butter knife! LOL |
