Upright Amplification

I've been doing gigs with a jazz big band, and my little 30w stage combo isn't cutting it, not even close. My Ampeg SVT3 and 4x10 is definitely overkill. So I need to invest in a new amp.. I've been eyeing these GK Microbass amps.. but I'm wondering if anyone else has any suggestions...

I want something small/light enough to be at least somewhat easily portable (I don't drive, and getting my upright AND an amp to gigs is tricky by foot & public transit..)
Those GK Micros are only 26 lbs..

I have never used this myself, but the posts on
the GK on talkbass seem to gravitate toward the
positive. Other than that I would check out the
SWR line, as well as EA (Euphonic Audio)and AI
(Acoustic Image)

Rey has some good advice there about the
Polytone. I used to have one, and it was one of
the best sounding small amps I ever used.

If its volume combined with mobility you need why not try out a PHIL JONES BRIEFCASE COMBO...
