Hey Thanks, glad you like it!

That tune is actually a tribute to Radiohead. Radiohead uses a lot of "common tones" in their tunes(notes that stay the same when a chord changes) so I wanted to mess around with that concept. If you listen to the sax and guitar parts in the second half of the melody they share notes that split at various points following common tones around a closely related chord progression.. my attempt to pay tribute to a great band!

hummmm.... Never heard of you here. Considering you haven't posted here in 4 years I'm thinking that's probably why. I'll be sure to check you out when I see your name on the boards a little more frequently. No disrespect intended.

Hey Dave,

No disrespect taken... I'm one of the creators of Active Bass, along with my good friend Chris Sung and a few others.

I've been away bulding my career as a professional bassist since moving to New York in 2003 (helped create Active Bass back when I lived in Canada), and have been in-active in posting on all bass related web sites for quite a while. Most of the early lessons here at Active Bass were written by me.

Happy to report that things in New York are going great and I'm going to try and stop by a little more often.

All the best and happy holiday's,

CT

While it's members have turned this into a GREAT site. You see Chris to me you are just another member. If you need help I will be more than happy to help you if I can. If you offer help I will be more than willing to take it. However, if you jump on here once every four years then you will have to forgive me if I question that.

I commend you and your partners for building the empty house here at AB. Well done indeed. Let me ask you just this one question.

Do you have any influence on the site now?

Dave

Hi Dave,

You bring up an excellent point, you and everyone here have made this a GREAT site, and that's exactly what we set out to do, build a strong on-line community of bass players, it's so wonderful to see that that has happended! The best bass community on the internet and you're right, I have had very little to do with that.

I actually just wanted to quietly post a little note in the Announcements section about my new personal site for those that still remembered ol' Chris Tarry here.

Your reaction is totally justified, especially in a community as strong as ActiveBass in which I am of course, as you mentioned, just one member.

On the flipside I do hope that if a member decides to post something in the "Announcements" section in the future about CD's, websites, gigs, ect, that they will be allowed to do so without too much trouble as the goal of the "Announcements" forum from the beginning was about building a welcoming community of support for just such ventures, regardless of how much one had posted in the other sections of the site.

The ActiveBass site is in obvious need of updateing and that will happen. I do still have a very limited influence on the site so I'll see what I can do to help make those changes a reality.

All the best,
Chris Tarry

Absolutely Chris. You and every other member here are most welcome to post and promote any venture that you/they might have going. I'm quite sure I didn't need to tell you that. My feeling on it is a quite simple one: "Support the site and I will support you". My hat is off to you as one of the creators. Very well done! You should be proud along with the others.

I'll make a deal with you Chris. Help one member here in the next 30 days and I'll check out your website and purchase a CD, Shirt or whatever merch you have available. Seems to me with your experience that you would have something of value to contribute. Why not contribute now?

I'm not making trouble for anyone Chris. I just care.

Merry Christmas. Wishing you the best in the future.

I'll be watching with my credit card in hand. Care enough to make a sale?

Dave
