ATK-300

I've been on the lookout for an Ibanez ATK-300 for awhile now and finally found a really great one on eBay. It's a '95 model (made in March) so to me it is highly desirable. I've been really busy lately and don't have much time to surf the 'net but I saw it last eve and wanted to place a bid but something came up so I had to rush out thereby forfeiting my bid. What I didn't realize was that the auction was ending yesterday eve so when I checked back today the auction was closed. But to top it off NOBODY bid on it the first time around so it was relisted... BUT then the auction was closed early because someone put a $61 bid on it!!!! This happened in less than 16 hours' time!!! Shipping was $40 so someone actually was able to buy this ATK for a total of $101!!!! I was ready to go up to $350 for it!!

What a disappointment!!

Jens,
I had a 95' just like it, and I've played the new ones. I couldn't tell a difference at all. The new ones are only about $400.

Hi Jens,
I was just whiling away my snowy day here checking out the used gear at the GC website when I saw this. I remembered your post about the ATK-300. I copied the link for you. I have no idea about how, or if, they ship. It might be of interest to you, though

Hope your day is less snowy than mine!

Thanks for the heads up (no that wasn't an attempt at humor with respects to that basses' control knobs).

Yea, and this as well. Sombody had a "brand new" demo ATK300 listed on eBay. I saw this yesterday morning just before I headed out to work and was going to bid on it when I got home since the auction was closing at 6pm. Well, I tried to connect to the i'net when I got home from work but lo and behold my ISP was down and didn't come back up until after I went to bed so I missed out on this one with a sunburst finish that ultimately sold for $177.50!

I'm selling my ATK-305 on ebay as we speak. Breaks my heart, but she deserves to be played, and I haven't been doing it.

D'oh!!!!!!! Does this mean you would rather have two ATK-300's on your design, rather than the 300 & 305?

No worries either way!

Cheers!

LOL! Just 2 ATK-300 please. When I get back from Iraq, then I will buy another ATK-300. I still want that commemorative one with the metal engraved pickguard.

Don't rush! I can always PM you my Camp Victory address and you can send it to me there! I will have my new Carvin AC-40 semi-hollow acoustic bass there, so I will need a strap :^D

LOL, I never rush, as you can see from my anemic output! I spend a lot of time on each design....harder to make a profit, but I think the results are much better!

I've always wondered how that Carvin AC-40 sounded, and wanted one for myself! I have a Dean Performer A/E, that is adequate, but I don't use it. It's been hanging on the wall for a couple of years now! It's on Craigslist right now.... Trying to get rid of some of the stuff I'm not using regularly....

Griz....... ;)

The AC-40 sounds great. It isn't as "bass" as an electric, but its a good change of pace. I put nylon wrapped flats by LaBella on her and now she sounds almost like an upright. Real mellow sound.

Cool! I can't get any kind of volume out of the Dean without a pic, unless I'm plugged in. If I wanted to stay plugged in, I would have bought another electric! I do have a Pignose Hog portable amp, but I got tired of lugging that thing around too! LOL!

$60 for shipping... Ivan that's Terrible (poor pun);) but high shipping IMO. I pass over basses when I see shipping costs like that.

Good luck with the bass, but more importantly in Iraq. I'll be keeping you on my prayer list until you return.

That's because I have to purchase a box & the foam peanuts. The shipping itself - depending on where it goes should be no more than $40 (on average). If I had an extra box around, I would do it myself. Hell, if I'm going to bite the cost on that.
