2 Questions.

1.) I play through an Epifani 2x12 cab. If I set it upright (looks like one 12x12 on top of the other)does it effective sound? Is it bad? comments?

2.) Fretless bass: Does it matter is one uses flatwounds rather than roundwound strings on it? I played flatwounds before and roundwounds on it. I know preference matters, but does it hurt the fretboard?

Thanks Guys,
Papke

If you mean a 2x12 sitting atop another 2x12 - yeah, it will kick butt. As for flatwounds vs rounds on a fretless. Flats are easier on your freboard than others. Especially if you use nylon-wrapped flats (Rotos & LaBella makes some).

Dave,

I don't really think it matters how you place your cabinet, as long as nothing (cords or jacks) is getting dammaged.

Flatwounds or even Half rounds are easier on the fingerboard of a fretless. Roundwounds will eat the wood, unless you have some really heavy protective coating on it.

Yes, ... a 212 vertically will
be better than horizontally, but
it might be difficult to tell.
