Sad circumstances has put me in an nervous position....
The husband of a friend, fellow teacher, and worship team member, a pianist, has sadly passed away at the age of 30. The "C" word.
The widow's desire is to have a memorial service and have our team play several praise and worship songs of her (his) choice.
So, many of my fellow high school faculty members who have NEVER been to my church or listened to me play plus old, old, friends from a church I used to attend will be there. Not to mention community members.
In short, aside from being a somewhat sad occasion, although our outlook is to try to look at the best (I won't talk religion), it will be a NERVOUS one for me.
I realize in the scheme of things that this is not signicant - but it is something that I never anticipated.....
Well, got to warm up the Hoffy. I'd better practice!

Sorry to hear the sad news. Just remember that everyone will have their mind on your departed friend much more than on the performers. Hopefully that will ease the nerves a bit. Best of luck, and my condolences to the family.

I think you will do fine Mike. You'll be playing for a friend and that's an honor IMO. Remember, He won't ask you to do anything you can't do. I think you will be happy that you did this when its over. Losing a friend at any age is difficult. Honoring the wishes of a friend is beautiful.
Peace
Pete
