Furman conditioners can be pretty cheap. There are nicer models with a bunch of bells and whistles, but I would imagine they do the same conditioning.

I use a furman too. $79. It works fine for me. It has those nifty lamps that make your rig look high tech too! Mine is fine for protecting my equipment, but there are others that will help with noise. I didn't have the scratch for all that.

I have heard that the Monster floor unit is better, but I wanted something in my rack.

Also, a good buy is an outlet checker (not sure what it's called). You can get one from a home improvement store for around three bucks. It will tell you if you have a dangerous power source when you play in a new place. mine could have saved me from getting zapped if I had bought it sooner.
