James, if you search the internet for a midi version I can use Band in a Box to convert the bass line to tabs on a chord chart.

Make sure the midi you find is a quality version that sounds the way you expect. be especially careful to listen to the bass since that's what you're after.

Then post a link or pm a link to me and I'll convert it for you and e-mail the score back to you. You'll need to pm an e-mail address that can accept attachments.

Ok James, so the libster version was the one you liked? I'll send the score along in a short while.

Ok James, it's on it's way to you. The libster version is an mp3 and I can't convert that using BiaB, it has to be midi.

I did find a midi version that seemed to be pretty good. The arrangement is similar to Libby's but not identical. Hopefully it'll work for you.

The other thing is I can't get BiaB to properly use the acrobat distiller or pdf writer so the notation doesn't show up correctly. The tab does show up though and I think that's what you're after.

I hope this helps.

Oh, and BTW, if you want to play along with it I could remove the bass line from the midi and convert it to mp3 as a jam track. Let me know if you are interested.

What I can do is convert the midi, sans bass line, to an mp3 so that you can play it like any other mp3 file you'd download from the net. I'll use mp3 because, while midi should play on your PC, midi playback isn't always enabled and it might be tricky to set up. We know mp3's work because you are already using them.

Any mp3, or midi for that matter, can be sent by e-mail as an attachment.

Glad I can be of help. : )

Another tip for you James. There's a piece of software called 'digital music mentor' (DMM) by sienzo software that can scan an mp3, wav or CD track and extract the key, tempo, tuning or pitch and chords. It even gives you a tabbed version of the approximate bass line.

It isn't alway perfect as that's very hard to do but it does generally give you some useful info to get you going. I highly recommend it if you are going to be trying to play a lot of covers.

Google 'sienzo software' or 'digital music mentor'. You can download a demo version of DMM and give it a try. If you like it you can buy it for something like $25 (I don't remember the exact cost).

Thanks so much Paul! WOW, that was really fast. So i'm guessing you used one of these new fangled dohickys. LOL That is really cool. I'm gonna check the mentor out. Thanks for the tab and info, and if it's not a burden, then sure on the tabs. Thanks again, SweetBabyJames
