Yup. A British Jag. They were very "busy" while I was there. I got to work w/ the French F1 Mirage, and a host of American planes, EF-111, RF-111, F-16B, EWACS, KC-10, etc, etc. The Turks have all of our old Korean War era planes. That was fun.

We didnt Configure the IFF's correctly in the Iraq war, and considering both American And British forces had the same Commander, who may i say was slightly pig headed.

it is true though, they are effective in combat, 'cause they fly around for hours, loooking for targets of opportunity and then they're fairly quick to get air worthy again.

plus they're tough as Nails.

Yeah, and the sad part is that, as you alluded to, collateral damage or friendly fire was an issue then and is an issue now. Although, in past wars (going back centuries) it was even bigger. I think we have (somewhat) managed to keep it down. But it will always be there . . . and that is sad.

Agreed, but you need to specify the Merlin engined variant as the Allison engined one was reputed to be a dog.

My current faves, F-16 and Euro fighter. It's nice to see dogfighters instead of missile platforms.

And the one I'll get if I'm ever rich and famous,

cri_cri_7_gallery.jpg

Cri-Cri, the worlds smallest twin jet.

The middle picture looks like you're out on excercise (cold, wet & hungry) - there's no life like it!LOL

Now I have to dig through my old pictures as there's one of me huddled over a can of some quasi-edible from an IRP in the first dry set of combats I'd put on after being rained on for 3 days straight

Uggggh, IRP's! Do you remember the big green thermos cannisters of organic matter food that they'd bring field rations in?

My particular favorite were the veal cutlets. They were some kind of breaded meat paste fried in large amounts of fat. The bottom 1/3 were the best since they'd been soaking in grease for hours. My arteries are hardening just thinking about it. LOL

Actually, after looking more carefully, and trying to kickstart the odd brain cell, I realized the top two are in London but during basic infantry training. That's the basic cannon fodder infantry badge. The RCR badge was a big silver star. The few photos I have after training aren't very good.
