He's all good, I phoned him today, he's coming up to visit the shop tomorrow and maybe get a new Bass, cant wait to meet him!!

Speaking of Ric's, does your 4003 have a mute built in to the bridge like the 4001? I was playing around with mine the other day and found you can get some neat sounds with the mute raised.

Naa, he's after a Fender Jaguar Bass, Kooky like a Rickenbacker!!! LOL. Jags are great, I've been playing the one in the shop everyday for a couple of weeks when theres not alot to do at work and its really grown on me, comfy neck, and great tones inside it, built great too, nice Bass and it also looks Dead Cool!!!

Yeah, 4003's have the Mute too, I must admit it can be fun but I never used mine and have put a Hipshot bridge on that does not have the mute, much better bridge in every way over the original, greater tonal responce and you can set it up a lot better, I finally have my intonation spot on!!

A jaguar eh, that should be nice. Vern's already got more basses than I have socks so what's one more. LOL

It's funny with my Rickenbacker, I thought for a while I may have made a mistake buying it. It felt awkward and I couldn't seem to get the sounds from it that I expected.

It's starting to grow on me now though. I'm getting used to the feel of it. Now I just need to find the tonal settings that I'm after. The mute seems to be part of the equation. With it just slightly deadening the strings I'm starting to hear the famous RIC 'clang' sound.

Those Jags are nice--at least what I've read about them. I want to try one.
