Zoom 506 II bass pedal: Black or Silver, why?

All,

I own a Zoom 506 (the original one) and like it (used it live for years, very reliable as a stage tuner, compresser/preamp and for the octave effect). I've been browsing ebay looking at the 506 II's and found some in black and some in silver. The ones on Zoom's site are in silver:

What's the difference? Is there any?

If it doesn't say so, assume no difference.
I find it hard to tell the difference between half the effects on my Zoom, mainly coz i get a crap tone out of all of them.
I agree - half decent stage tuner though, but bring on the Behringer stompers!

Anyone wanna buy a 708?

I get some sort of weird, DIY, pride boost out of eeking good tone from less-than-state-of-the-art gear. Call it making a virtue of necessity. :)

I've been happy with the 506. I only use two patches on it, both custom. One has a touch of compression and is my basic clean sound. The other has the same plus more level and a bit of octave underneath (I use that one on leads. Really helps push over the top of the mix and keeps the a-- from dropping out of it when you're high up the neck.

I've found the tuner is fine so long as you tune by the 12th fret octaves. :)

I've been geeking with it a bit today using this old Kay guitar that I've had in storage. Pretty cool sounds if you're going for space rock!

Thanks for the input (you and everyone else. Really quick turn-around-time!).

It's mint condition, still got most of the boc, and the instruction manual. No batteries or mains adaptor in it (ie as you'd find it in the shop).
I've customised the settings a fair bit but u can wipe them.
I really can't see how you can find anything ou can call a good tone from it, I've played with everything, all customs, tweaking factory settings etc. I guess it's just preference though, a couple of half decent simpler stomps will do me.

I paid 70GBP for it. Will take 50. I think they're still around 100 new.

man we get so screwed in the UK - everything is the same price as in the US, but 1 costs twice as much as $1!
Why are the prices dollar for pound when the exchange rate is 2? Anyone?

i meant local stuff anyway, teh shipping an import tax is actually charged at a rate to make more profit than the actual product, i know coz i've brought from places that don't do it.
ah well if i really can't cope, i'll emigrate huh?
