I'm listening to the new Weezer album right now and it rocks! Is anyone out there in bass land feeling the love? Come on you guys Rivers is singing about his hash pipe! After listening to this album all day I'm pretty desperate to go home and play with a pick! So let's review...give the new Weezer album a try if nothing else it is under a half an hour long you can listen to it while on the crapper...that's inspiration baby yeah!

The first two were good and short, I dunno if anyone can pull off doing the same thing three times and still sound good, life needs variety you know...

Weezer?
Aren't they that bunch of geeks who think they're cool by being geeky, and they can't even play their guitars.

Yeah, I've been meaning to pick up the album, since I really love "The Blue Album" and "Pinkerton." I think it's kinda lame that they have two self-titled albums though... I'd think that most bands with self-titled albums would want their first album to be the only self-titled one in order to "introduce" the band kind of. They might have done it because of the problems that they had with the name "Pinkerton" when they were sued by the Pinkerton Security Co. I dunno, just a thought.

I've been meaning to pick up the new Tool as well... My friend John Paul (and the guitarist in my band) says that it's really good.

quite honestly I dont like it. I grew up on weezer's blue album, loved pinkerton, and it was because they had such a distinct sound. You could turn on the radio anytime and if you heard weezer, you KNEW it was weezer. The new album, albeit a few ok tunes, it was like they dropped their unique sound to sell more records (because pinkerton sold so poorly), now it's just an almost typical pop alternative sound. I'm disappointed, it's so dry and void of their strange sounds and spontaneous energetic quirkiness that painted the first two albums.

......and Tool's new album Lateralus, yes, kicks....and I'm a jazz/ funk guy sayin' this!

Yeah, Weezer does have a distinct sound... That kind of sound that's heavy on Fuzz pedals and weird synth-sounding effects in some cases. I like Pinkerton and the Blue Album a lot, so I naturally want to get the Green Album, but I think it's kinda lame that they only made the CD 28 minutes long or whatever... What the hell is that?
