Kawai Basses

Does anyone know anything about them?
I bought a Kawai F-2B 110ks about a month an a half ago and I love it! I was wondering if anyone knew how much the (Kawai's) basses were worth.

They have good and bad ones like every body
else. I have seen some in the 1,500 dollar
price range and some for 250 so it all
depends on what model and such.

I model I bought (F2b-110ks) listed at $1,395 but I got it used (but in mint condition) for less than half of that. It's a 4-string neck-thru (5-piece Laminated Hard Maple and Mahogany)with a 3-piece Laminated Hard Maple and Koa body. Rosewood Fretboard 22 frets on a 34" scale. The hardware is Gold Schaller tuners and bridge. For the electronics I have 2 SHB Active Kawai pickups with an 18v preamp. The bass is beautiful but VERY heavy. Plays better than any bass I have played (that includes a Warwick Corvette FNA!) So I think I got a pretty good deal on it.

Sounds like you got a nice one at a good
price, most people think of Kawai as only a
piano co. but they do make some good
basses as well. The same goes for Hohner,
most people think of harmonicas when they
hear that name but they make other
instruments too!

i bought a kawai bass about 14 years ago. i loved it then and i still love it now. it's a nice peice of wood, neck through the body design. i yanked the frets out about 5 years ago and use it for what little fretless playing i do. great bass.
