what you really hate on the stage

hello!

I have played yestarday on heavy metal festival called Thunderfest. There was 7 bands who have played and in one band have played me too. I was the guest in one band, and don't have played with my band.
I have go on the stage and start playing, and the sound was very very bad. I have one day before this festival concert with my band and the sound was kick ass. I have find out, that is 100% better to play if you have your own concert, where play ony one band, that you have lonly concert, because on this "thunderfest" have bass amp not enought power, and I don't have hear my self and the monitors was very bad too.

I really hate on the stage when the sound is not good and I don't hear my self and others players. And really hate too, if the lights on the concert are not high enough.
and what you hate people on the stage?

I hate it when somebody has to adjust the mixing board just when everything was sounding the way it should!

1. Breaking a string
2. not enough bass in the mix (that is why you bring a powerfull cab to add your own bass)

AND THE WORST:

Guitarists and drummers messing around with their gear between songs adding awkward silence and taking up valuable set time.

forgot about that one. In my last band we would end a song and the guitar player would start trying to show off and I would be like "count off now" to the drummer.

there isn't a good community like AB. The magazine Gitarre & Bass (www.gitarrebass.de) has a discussion board but it's mostly guitar players hanging out there.
If you're looking for instructional pages I'll have to search for my latest issue of the Bass Professor magazine (this will take a while as my appartment looks a bit messy right now :-)) - they reviewed some bass related sites there

There's also a small community at www.bass.de but I don't really like it, there's not a lot of information shared there, the navigation of the discussion board is not that good, there are few postings, mostly by wannabe-cool teenagers/bass newbies but check it out if you like.

The only "pure" bass print magazine in Germany is the Bass Professor. Their website is at www.bassprofessor.de.

As I said, I have no idea where I put the last issue but when I've found it I'll send you the reviewed links.

Meanwhile just use www.google.de, select Seiten auf deutsch or Seiten aus Deutschland and search for "bass", "bassist", etc.

Peace.
Michael
