I wear my bass up at my waist and hold it straight like Les Claypool, I found this makes me play with more comfort, I can play all of the frets with ease and I have more control over the tremolo I had installed.

I never call a guy who plays bass with a pick a bass player!

Hey Josh! Just joking, didn't try to offend. If you look at my home page you'll see on of my mentors played with a pick so right back at me! On the serious side,guitar players in my area outnumbered bass players probably 10 to 1, so the not-so-good guitarist got "stuck" playing bass{with a pick of course} and pick bassist got a bit of a bad rap because of this dilemma. You have your style of play and I respect that. I dabbled in punk for a period of time but Sabbath kept calling me back! Know what you like and go for it, don't let anyone put doubt in your mind about it.

Nice save Crackie.... Just put an "LOL" at the end of it and people will know your joking. But, aren't you the guy who told me that picking was something you do to your butt, or nose, but not you bass...lol.... Just kidding pick players... we're just kidding. You have to watch it here, some of these guys take it so seriously. Even when I make fun of drummers people get upset once in a while. There are some drummers here. They aren't bright enough to start there own website so they have to come here....lol.. Relax drummers it's a joke. Speaking of drummers... last night Trevis broke a cymbol stand. He hit this cymbol and all of a sudden it went flying between me and Chris. He snapped the top of the stand. "Hey Trevis... you really need to learn to hit those things harder"....lol

I just asked Mamabear how high or low she wore her bras. After I picked myself up from the carpet, I realised you had said bass.

As a matter of interest, at her age they are slung real low like Gabby Haye's shooter. lol Anyone remember Gabby Hayes?

I wear mine centered between my waist and my hips, low enough to look awesome(of course, a bass will look awesome no matter where it hangs....), high enough that I don't hurt myself trying to play.....

As you can see from my icon, pretty high. I get that actually from the guitarist Steve Howe of Yes, my favorite guitarist, and the source of many a stolen riff. I also love that New Romantic stuff from the UK in the 80's.

It's closer to my heart (RUSH!!!), and I can sing better, although I have to be more diligent in my breath technique, especially on classical music. It weighs about as much as a Victorian 'Brunnhilde' costume...Ho-Jo-Ti-HOH!
