I'm not offended by swearing at all. Those are some of my favorite words. However, did you read the terms and conditions of the site. It along with many other things are prohibitted.

Someone said, "my swear lttered posts". I swore ONCE! I dont swear constantly. And whoever said I was swearing to be aprt of a unit is a rear-endhole. I just do.

How many metal heads do you see saying,"gee, I really enjoy the music of Meshuggah. What a swell band.". If you ever see one, tell me I wanna have a conversation with him.

You outwardly implied that you swore (in that statement) while describing a metal band because there must be no clean way to describe such music...

Clarification, please, Mr. Jones- in more ways than one? If I'm an a**hole, then please, point out why! I'd like to know what I've done to come under your line of fire, because it certainly wasn't because I made an irrelevant statement... Also, how did you mean that statement to come out, if it doesn't indicate the longing for a feeling of acceptance in a group of people? I'm a metalhead, but I don't have to swear... I do, but I do it a whole lot less now than I did... I got smarter, more mature, and my vocabulary grew beyond four-letter words (they're still there, it's just that I know how to express a liking for something without saying f**k).

This is a joke....Lesa is respected because this site is here for Bass Players to share ideas and views concerning Bass Playing...and she's a pro. Yes, we also discuss many other issues and tell a few jokes and take a few jabs at each other, but Adam you are hammering a person who has done nothing to you. If you were that upset about Lesa's postings then you should have taken it up with administers. To get a message, get upset and then start making comparisons to a member who has helped to make this site what it is today is well, childish. A man defends himself and his values toe to toe with the peron or persons he has a beef with, he does not start stabbing others who are not involved. Take you're beef where it belongs, if you believe you did nothing wrong then take your complaint there. You're not doing a very good job of impressing anyone with some juvenille back stabbing.

I was wondering what passes for profanity? The word "bitch" has about 4 different meanings. If we use "bitch" or any other taboo word in a way other than profane will we still get in trouble? The "f-word" also has about four different meanings. Adam wasn't using it in the profane sense, he was using it to express his liking for that particular band. If he said "f-you" or "f-off" or in substitution of the word "sex" it would be profane. Say he was saying this..."I screwed up.". If he traded the "f-word" for screwed, it would obviously not be in a profane manner. I was just wondering since words can be homonyms. Like fleet (a group of ships) and fleet (swift). Same word, different meanings. Like b---- (female dog), b---- (offensive reference to a woman), b---- (a nagging complaint), and b---- (something difficult).

Micheal, I agree with you in full. I'm sorry. Im exactly like you, I dont swear like a drunken sailor, but I do sometimes. More than not, when I'm with bandmates or talking about music. I just do. I guess I made a mistake swearing on this board and wont do it again. I recieved a stupid notice about something that seems completely ridiculous to me. And now because I argued with the almighty, Lesa McCabe, everyone hates me. You have to understand I'm not some pothead idiot. Until recently I was a teacher, and now I run a server at 3M. I feel I made some valid points in my agrument with Lesa. The only counter to these points was someone saying I swear to be part of a group and that I ltter my posts with swears, both of which are false. Here's another one for you: How come someone can post suggestive jokes numerous times and not get a warning or anything but I cant say a swear word which is automatically censored anyway? If its nothing more than a joke why is that better than saying f'n meshuggah?

I have to say I agree with you. One little censored explitive does seem a little trivial, but I'm not arguing the letter. Everyone did really gang up on you with no other reason than you stepped on some beloved toes.

No one hates you....and people argue with me all the time..I have been here over 2 1/2 years...I did not send you that email, the boss Mr Sung did. He monitors this site pretty well. He thought you went ovwe the line..If you have a problem and think you were treated unfairly, you need to quit taking it out on me and talk with him instead.

Because they are JOKES....everyone knows they are jokes and take them in that context.

That "unit" thing was sort of a half-joke asking you to improve the way you state yourself. It really did make it seem like you swear just to fit in. When you argue, just make sure that your statements aren't ambiguous. I'm not necessarily saying that you swear like a drunken sailor. But I did see that post unedited, and it didn't make you look good. The best thing to do in the future is just to censor it out (Example: s**t) yourself.

Any hard feeling have been pushed aside in hopes that you will understand this post... and understand that I don't take you to be a retard... Also, Lesa isn't necessarily almighty, she's just got a lot of say. Think of her as the great, wise, black wizard of the activebass.com community.
