CHEAP CHEAP BASS RIG???

Here's what i want to do

Can I take a small combo (say 15w) and plug it into a power amp, then into a cab? I know it will work, but will it sound good?

Any comments will be appreciated!

Thank You,

Patrick

I presume you have the power amp and the cab. I've run a Line 6 Bass Pod into a power amp with fairly good results, although for some reason I can't run it directly into the fx return on my Eden Traveler head. I have to put it through the pre-amp, although that works alright, too. If you're going to do this, I recommend getting something quiet, like the Pod, as the first stage for the amp. A combo isn't necessarily going to have a quiet (or flexible) pre-amp stage. I have seen people use GK's smallest amp onstage with a line out to a PA.

so i cant use a little hartke combo (15w) into the power amp, because the little hartke is the only small amp that actually has an effects loop on it
