Your never too old to learn how to or to play the
bass, Steve! Just take it slowly, relax and have
fun. There are a ton of classic rock songs that
will be easy enough to play along with while
you build your skills. And if you don't belive me
just click on my name and check out my home
page, I hadn't played a bass in almost 20
years just 2 years ago and now I play with 3
bands.

Too old to learn? Not only no, but hell no! I didn't start playing bass until I was 31, and I have been playing over 10 years now....go for it baby!

When my male friends my age started learning bass, I was playing the flute. (Which, I mostly hated.) After my mom rejected the sax, and a music teacher told me I couldn't play bass, I gave up music and turned to dance which I studied for many years after that, and later did taught and did semi-professionally and in college/grad school.

After finally giving up dancing, I started learning bass when I was 28, now I'm 30. Sometimes I fear I'll never make it "over the hump"...but you did it.

So, thanks for the inspiration.

well i think that most people start to play as a teenager, like me at 14, but as long as u have a pastion, or a feel to learn, or a need to play, then u should be fine, just take it slow and learn songs that u know by heart, those are the MOST fun to play, get tab at
