Minor Chord Progression

by Paul Rainey (889)

Pages: 1 2 Suggested Tempo: 120

This is a chord progression that I used halfway through a bass solo I wrote. It is using classical style arrpegios. (of course let the notes ring out until you change chords) Notice when the A chord is played for the second time I raise the third degree a half step and then a whole step to give the chord some "motion" I'm not really sure what this is called but a lot of classical style music uses this technique. (Listen to "When the Children Cry" by White Lion for something similar. This exercise should help strenghten your hand and wrist for playing Barre chords on bass. It should also help you become more smooth in your chordal movements. The other half is on the next page cause the program only lets you write 16 bars at a time. Try this with Chorus, Flange, or Reverb for an even cooler sound.
