This lesson could be either a warmup, a solo or just messing about when bored. To "noodle" simple take a scale and run around the fretboard playing notes in only this scale. This example uses the F major scale (F, G, A, Bflat, C, D and E). When you can easily run about the fret board playing notes from this scale, you are on your way to being able to construct interesting and exciting bass solos. These "noodles" are also good for exercising your fingers and increasing your note finding ability. Also, when using your scale, try not to stick to a "box" position, try to use notes all over the fretboard. This example uses the 10th fret, give your left hand some exersise! (no offense to all you lefties out there!). Have fun, and lemme know what you think.
