This lesson was created to help all bassists out there learn to traverse the neck a little bit more efficiently than they were before. Some songs require you to jump from a low position on the neck (near headstock) to a high position (near pickups) within the span of one note. This can be easy or difficult depending upon the tempo. In my experience all of the songs that have a jump that dramatic are always moving pretty fast. These excercises should help you make the jump easier. I call it jumping the neck.
This first jumping excercise is an ascending line that jumps from low to high. It moves fast so be careful. If you want to see how much easier it makes it using an open D, then try playing a D on the A string and making the jump.
