Here is a chord sequence for a two-chord song in the key of F; it could fit a number of country music tunes (for example, 'Jambalaya') - it's about as basic a sequence as you can get.

F(2 bars) C(4 bars) F(4 bars) C(4 bars) F(2 bars)

For the beginner at least, quite a challenge to make an interesting bass line from! I only took up the bass a few months ago, (this is my first attempt at a lesson - hope it's useful!) and to help me learn I have been transcribing lines from live perfomances of an amateur jazz band a friend played bass guitar in. Here's what he did with a song using this sequence.

The number starts simply, with a straightforward 'country-style' bass line to support the vocal, mainly using tonic and dominant notes for each chord on beats 1 and 3.
