By raking the index finger across the strings, a very quick attack is possible. In this example, an accompaniment for "Caravan" in D minor shows how the technique can sound. Rake using the index finger. The open strings allow for a fuller sound.

Start each downward arpeggio using the middle finger of the right hand. Make sure that you don't try to make each note in the rake completely clear and articulated; ghost notes are acceptable. You're trying to fill out the sound not make each note sound to its fullest. Let the open string fill out the sound for you.
