Disco Scale

by Doug Bland (195)

Pages: 1 Suggested Tempo: 160

Here is a simple scale pattern that just happens to sound like a disco bass line. FINGER STYLE: Try using your index finger for the bottom notes (the root) and your middle finger for the top notes, or the octave (the eighth note of the scale). The disco scale is also a great scale for learning to slap. SLAPPING PRACTICE: use the thumb for slapping the root and the index finger for snapping the octave. THUMB STYLE: Use just your thumb for each note (excellent practice!). HOW I PRACTICE IT: Slap style, thumb, finger style, reverse the root and octave order for diversity (top note-bottom note), and make it as musical as possible.
