Lessons: Lesson #2601: Harmonizing The Major 'n' Minor Scale*s |
|
|
Hey wait!! Look at this lesson and try it out...trust me it will help you!!(well some i know it has already helped them.
The key center specifies the central pitch of a song. It is supported by chords that keep the ear focused around that one central picth, or tonic. For songs in a major key, the notes making up these supported chords are drawn from a major scale.
Specifically, these cords are derived from a major coole scale by harmonizing it(scale). This means that chords are built upon each note of the scale by stacking up the third intervals-utilizing notes drawn exclusively from that scale-until traids are formed.
(if this does not make sence to you just look at the diagrams)
Below, the G string scale is laid out on one string which will help you better learn this process of harmonization. This is all present in the form of all moving up the E string. This is the beginning of the Major harmony scales.
