This is muggorskies famous theme from the hut of baba yaga. The myth goes like this baba yaga is a demon witch who eats children, flies around in a medicine bowl, and lives in a hut built on chicken legs. For those who love classical music, or for for those who love slayer, this piece is for you. The heavinesss of this piece was brilliantly portrayed by the great band e.l.p on the 1970's live release of pictures at an exhibition, the speed and power that they played is still legendary, also tomita the great jappanesse synthist did a brilliant cover of this composition. I transcribed the piano score to bass, so if there is anyone out there who can write this in a more simple fashion please do. In the second bass part or the low end we have octaves written on piano, which makes me wonder how keith emerson played it on a hammond, he used no pedal, so Greg probably provided the low end, but the piano transcription is a real scortcher, here we have just one note, not the constant octaves provided by the composer. Also a personal note of thanks to maurice ravel the great french composer who saved pictures from the grave, and gave us the symphonic version which created enought interest for others to explore the original piano version, which is very challenging to say the least.
