Good arpeggio work out. Arpeggios have helped me out many of times when I didn't know what to play when someone wanted me to write a bass line for an original song that they had wrote. There has been a few gigs that I've gotten tired of playing just the basic one fret in the box bass line that is wrote for a cover song & gotten really good feedback from the crowd and musicians. Arpeggios are the notes in a scale that really blend together, if played at the same time. Of course a bass player can only hit more than one string at times, but if you know the arpeggios for the key of song that is playing. You can quarter/eigth note each note and really add to the music.
