Prelude In G Major, BWV 1007
YOU MUST TUNE YOUR BASS DOWN 2 WHOLE STEPS TO CFBbEb!!!! The lesson representation here utilizes the same positions and proper patterns of the piece, however, the depth of standard tuning is not enough and so we tune down. This piece has a musical advantage of both sounding great as a well known song and the playing feel of an etude. From the etude aspect the player will experience more 'pattern play' as opposed to 'scale play'. An example of this difference would be, say, this piece vs Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring or a Vivaldi piece. The player will note that the 'scale play' is used for linking the variations of the theme (pattern).
