Here is the basso continuo part of this great piece by J.S. Bach. It is played in the key of G major in 9/8 time at a moderate speed. This piece is great for hand work because both hands are constantly moving. The left hand gets a lot of stretching done whilst moving and the right hand will get some string skipping in whilst moving. Keep in mind the timing of the piece. There are a few rests to go along with this piece, I shall try to point them out in their correct positions so that you may get all of the action here. In this first section there is an 1/8 rest at the beginning of the first measure. At the end of the 10th measure after the last high G there is a series of rests which go: .1/4 .1/4 .1/2 .1/4 .1/2 .1/4
