Basic Blues Scale

by Jimmy Hughes (594)

Pages: 1 2 3 Suggested Tempo: 50

This Blues Scale is in the key of "A" minor. Using all four fingers on your fretting hand, start the scale with your first finger on "A" on the low "E" string. Then stretch your pinky to play note #2 which will be "C".

Notes 3,4,5 on the "A" string will be first, second and third finger or "D","Eb","E". Notes 6 & 7 on the "D" string will be finger one and three or "G" & "A". Notice that there are only seven(7) notes in a blues scale.

This scale is a good pinky exerciser when using this finger pattern.
