Kickin' It With Some Country

Yeah, this is a county lesson. I grew up on some of the classics. Hearing the solid foundation that these old Nashville hands lent to the great old country singers takes me waaaay back to a simpler time.

That is the point of country music. The simple stuff lays the solid foundation. Sometimes simplicity is the hardest thing.
Country music is known (sometimes infamously) for common use of the I-IV-V pattern. For those of you not familiar with this pattern, simply search the AB lessons and you will most likely find tons of info. Learn what that is and come back here.
Take your time and get this stuff down. It will come in handy in other styles as well. It is simple, but very effective in many ways. Thanks!
