First thing, you need to know the neck of the bass. using reference note "E", set the metronome on a rather slow tempo, and play all of the "E's" on the bass, all over the neck. Start off by using one string at a time though, and then proceed to play all of the F's on the bass, and then F#'s, and just spell through the musical alphabet. Use whole, half, 1/4, 1/8ths, 1/16ths, etc. LEARN THOSE NOTES ON THE BASS!!!
