Time & Space

by Jim Keller, IV (1889)

Pages: 1 2 3 4 5 Suggested Tempo: 120

This is a SIMPLE 1-bar figure, played in 4/4 w/ a 1/16 note feel. Note where the bass' activity is placed...

Now, by using some rhythmic DISPLACEMENT, this CAN be spiced up by "creating" a 4-bar phrase(**SEE PAGE 2**). Displace the figure by an 1/8 note in bars 1-3; bar 4 = bar 1 & completes the 4-bar cycle. Bar 1=Start figure on BEAT 1 Bar 2=Start figure on "& of 1" Bar 3=Start figure on BEAT 2 Bar 4=Start figure on BEAT 1

...that completes the cycle. This "technique" gives an illusion that something ain't quite "right" between the bassist & drummer. ;-)
