This is more for beginner to intermediate players. I think it's a fairly common pattern, but very useful if you need a quick, funky line to pull out of your bag of tricks. I've included a few chords to show how it sounds in the context of a body of music.

Perhaps this will help you to gain a better understanding of when and where this line can be used. Like I said before, it's just a handy little tool to carry in your bag of tricks for spur-of-the-moment work.
