Alternative Rock Is Now More Complex

by Justin Douglas (271)

Pages: 1 2 Suggested Tempo: 80

This is just a small piece of a song my band does. I use this for an example of alternative taking a bit of a complex turn, hopefully. This song has dynamics that a computer really can't show, but I am sure you be able to tell where they go. You need a quiet, or they won't be any storm. On, with the actually lesson. The intro is really what will grab the listener. I rated this lesson advanced because the 12th frets should really be harmonics, and that could take a little practice to play this line with harmonics. The intro is just a free floating intro with no real form to it. You will hear my timing is just a little off, but it was the best I could figure out. This first page shows the quiet before the storm, setting up for a change in dynamics. Please keep in mind that the generic track builder makes sound quite pansy-ish, but with voicing for the maj7 chords that my guitarist uses this sounds more sophisticated yet smooth.
