Alright, for all you beginners out there, this is a lesson on tunings. Common for rock, "dropped D" tuning is just tuning your lowest E string down a whole step to get the lower note of D. No other strings are tuned down. You can listen for this by playing a finger on the 7th fret, which is now an A. A tuner will pick it up also if you place a finger on the 2nd fret. If you have your finger on the 2nd fret then it should say the note is an E. If your finger is on the 7th fret then the tuner should say it is an A. If you are playing it open then the tuner should pick it up as a D. Some tuners do not pick up this note.
