Pay as little attention to the background Vegas music as possible.
This is a pretty technical lesson that merges both solo chops with grooving bass parts. It weaves in and out of timing with the accompaniment--which is intentional. It also adds notes into the solo that are not in the key, but this is also intentional to show that you don't have to stick strictly to the key notes. I paid a lot of attention to the practicality of this lesson. I've seen others that are nice to hear, but are almost impossible to play (ie jumping from the 1st fret to the 17th fret in a 16th note.) Rest assured that this is possible using the common solo positions.
