Funk Groove with the 7th (#9) Chord

by Russ Bush (271)

Pages: 1 Suggested Tempo: 160

This is a pattern that showcases the notes in the Major 7th(#9) chord. Of the chord, it uses the root note, then the 3rd, then the 5th. It then goes to a flat 7 which gives the pattern a funk sound. The last note in the pattern is a flat 3rd, other wise known as the #9. If you don't understand any of this, you need to get a theory book and study it. Enjoy.
