Finger Excercises For Beginners

Alright ladies and gentlmen, here is quite possibly the most boring part of learning an instrument, the dreaded FINGER EXERCISES!!!! AAAARGH:(

Seriously, though, if you want to strengthen your hands and increase your speed, accuracy and agility on the fretboard there is no better way than to warm up for your practice session, recording or live performance. These will challenge you but they will pay off. Take a look at EX. 1 and play it with your metronome. Make sure you play each example all the way up to the 12th fret moving up 1/2 step each time you cycle through. To save space I have only transcribed 8 measures to show you the basic pattern. Start slow and gradually increase speed only after you have achieved accuracy.
