OK... so you have a decent amp, but your speakers keep p---ing you off with their crackling, and unholy rendition of your bottom end. OR... maybe you are tired of lugging around that damned 18" and 4x10" cabs to every gig. Invest in David Eden's D-210MBX wedge! This cab was designed for the bassist who wants a true rendition of their sound for their own monitor, but it is very adept at providing a potent sound for your general live mix. I use it alone... no bottom cab, and it's full range ability is commendable, if not phenomenal! Imagine a B- String that does not sound flabby, and has enough punch to make your lead guitarist have heart palpitations!?
Features: David Eden is world reknown for creating killer cabinets and amps. I used to use a Crate BX100 combo amp, but it was very limiting having only a 15" speaker, albeit full range. When I got the D-210MBX I was AMAZED at how much crisper my high end sounded, and how deep the 10s reproduced my bass end, even down to the low B string, which punches through the mix every time.
Sound: Currently I use the cab in a rock setting... using an Ibanez soundgear 5 string, through my Carvin R600 amp (see review) and my ART Nightbass SE (see review). The combination works! I have had times when other bands have used our gear, and I am amazed at how much PUNCH the little cab puts out, compared to full stacks of Peavey or other brand cabs! For only 350 watts, the Eden is worth its weight in gold! Slappers who use my rig are constantly blown away by how clear the twang of the string is, and even if the bass rig is DI'ed to the main house mix, you can still hear the distinctive clarity of the Eden cab doing its thang night after night! In fact, I get complaints by my band sometimes that I am TOO LOUD! Which of course makes me hesitant to upgrade my rig by adding an 18" Eden cab.... it might shake their fillings out!
Durability: Recently I've been a bad bassist. I bump this thing around, scuff it, getting into gigs, occasionally spill beer on the fabric, and sometimes stand on the cab, if I have it on the front end of the stage. It does not care. David Eden has created a little trooper of a cabinet. Not to mention it fits easily in any trunk (though I drive a minivan, so I'm not worried about size, just weight). At around 50 lbs, it's not that heavy either. This is the kind of product that would inspire me to seek an exclusive endorsement by David Eden!
