That program was sold to PGMusic of Band in a Box fame. They call it their Audio Chord Wizard. It is much better now with the refinements PGM have added.
You'll still get the odd Bbm9sus13/F though. Especially with guys like Keith Richards and ...(more)

<i>Not sure I will ever learn all there</i>
I've been trying for nearly 30 years of and on and can still barely play. It's only my refusal to give up that keeps me at it. Well that and I occasionally hit a few notes right. hahaha

Welcome, Ralph!
Yeah, you're right. being able to play music together with children (and surely grandchildren) is one of the really great things!

Not sure I will ever learn all there is but trying should keep me out of trouble. Working on string muting right now and finding a seated position that will let me use the entire fret board.

There used to be a program called "Digital Music Mentor" that would actually transcribe various lines from a song. I had access to it for a couple of months long ago. It was faaaaar from perfect, but as I recall, it could be a starting point. ...(more)

Unless you recorded it yourself there is just no way to isolate it completely. EQing it will be helpful. You can try making both channels (right & left) mono and then run them together out of phase. That will bring vocals way down since they...(more)

There is a transcribing software out there made by Seventh String called Transcribe!

There used to be downloadable software called "Best Practice" - I've never tried it, but have heard that it works OK - provided you have decent speakers attached to your computer. I don't know whether it is still available.

I think that all music should be written over on the theoretical staff even if the instrument cant reach all the lines, its just that when the notes end up on extra lines I find it really confusing

Something may be wrong with the A-tuner ... or the nut or brigde -

avant garde (SP?) stuff no doubt. He had an article in Bass Player a few years back and is supposed to be a top bassist, among everything else he plays and programs. Not my cup of tea but can appreciate it.

Keep what you have. That LH1000 is a nice head. Tiny nuances aren't even heard by an audience, so if what you have works...don't fix it.

People really luv the sanamp stuff but it always leaves me a meh.
My favorite tone tool these days is an [sfx] AY2, an update of the Yamaha NE-1.

15 and 31 band EQs are really geared for PA or engineering use and really aren't all that helpful for instrumentalists. I find simpler the better for getting my sound.

Do you really need a 15 band EQ? You'd be amazed at what something like a Sans Amp can do for your sound. I don't know what kind of bass or preamp you ave .. but if it is a passive bass..
