These exercises are designed for the beginner bassist to develop his/ her pick techinque. Exercise 1 uses only half notes. Be sure to alternate downstroke,upstroke, downstroke, upstroke,etc. Aim to achieve a good sound and accurate timing and as they become easier increase the tempo for each exercise.
